How is the infrared safety beam sensor work?

 

 

Infrared safety beam sensor is a type of automatic door accessories, for protecting pedestrians from being pinched or hit when passing through the automatic door. It is one of the guarantees for the safe and stable operation of automatic doors.

Types: Single set beam, dual sets beams, triple set beams

 

Working Principle​​:

​​Single-beam: Uses one IR emitter/receiver pair. Door won't close immediately if the beam is blocked for a preset time.

​​Dual-beam: Requires two parallel beams blocked simultaneously to activate, reducing false triggers.

Installations:

Generally, mount the emitter/receiver on opposite door frames. Noted the emitter/receiver beam need to be align for precision. Dual beam sensor is the same. They will be connected with the controller.

 

For single beam installed, and the installation distance should be 60cm from the ground.

Install the dual beams, with the first set beam is 30cm away from the ground and the second set beam is 90cm away from the ground.
